During the month of September 2007, I used a wonderful item called the Mimio. It is an interactive device that allows you to make any white board into an interactive white board. What does that mean? Well if you are familiar with an ActivBoard which is made by Promethean, then you will see the connection. I love all of these companies; however, Mimio has won with ease of use and and mobility. It does the same as the others but with less worry. The biggest advantage with a Mimio is that it can work without wires (with the exception of its plug in the wall). I love what Mimio is doing for my classroom.

good point, but note that if one of your favorite things is that you can connect with 'no wires' aside from the power cord, that most of the interactive whiteboards out there do the same - i know SMART has a wireless bluetooth adapter so your SMART Board can connect to your computer without the regular USB cable... i believe interwrite and the others have similar capabilities as well.
Can you expand upon what you like about the mimio as opposed to the activboard and/or other interactive whiteboards? What do you like more about the software? What do you like more about the feel of the hardware?
There are so many options out there now, so it is good to hear in depth the things that are preferred...
First of all, thanks for taking the time to read. Well, what I like about the Mimio other than the wireless aspect is its mobility. How many of us can carry our whiteboards around with us? Consider this point, if I wanted to visit several schools and do a presentation, I can generally count on them to have a projector and likely a laptop connection. These items are pretty standard. White boards are generally a classroom staple too. However, can I count on every school to have an interactive white board, particularly since I am into technology. Not really. The Mimio offers mobility and wireless capabilities.
